Directions: Using the information given answer each question below by writing a fraction. 

1. Andy was cutting wood to build a birdhouse. He cut a board into  four pieces of equal size. If he used three of the pieces, write a fraction that shows the amount of pieces he used from the amount that he cut them into.

2. If Andy cut a piece of wood into eight pieces and used six of them, write a fraction that shows how many pieces Andy used out of the amount that he cut the wood into.

3. Andy was measuring how high he should build the birdhouse so cats could not reach it. He decided that he would build the birdhouse ten feet off the ground. Write a fraction that shows what half of ten feet would look like. 

4. Andy bought a twelve pound bag of birdseed so he could put some of it in the birdhouse to feed the birds. He put three pounds of birdseed in the birdhouse. Write a fraction that show the amount of birdseed Andy used out of the bag that he bought.
