Hospitals provide a wide variety of healthcare services; are alway open and can handle emergencies, and have rooms where patients can stay overnight.

Many illnesses can be cured or controlled with medicines. If you are sick or hurt, your doctor  may write you a prescription, which is an order for medicine. People can buy some types of medicines with a doctor's order, such as aspirin and cough syrup. They are called over the counter medicines, or OTCs. Medicines come with directions on the label. The directions explain how much and how often to take the medicine. Medicines also have warning labels that tell you about possible side effects. If you have any questions, you should talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
