When a chemical reaction happens in the digestive system, the process is called chemical digestion.

When a chemical reaction happens in the digestive system, the process is called chemical digestion. Teeth bite and chew food into smaller pieces. Different teeth are used to do different things. Human beings have four different types of teeth which are used to physically break our food down into smaller pieces so that we can core easily swallow it. Canine and incisors rip and tear our food and premolars and molars crush and mash it further so that we can then safely swallow it.
